KATHUA, Oct 23: Birth anniversary of founder of Jammu and Kashmir Maharaja Gulab Singh was celebrated at his statue point at Gateway of J&K in Lakhanpur near here today.
In this connection the programme was organized by Ekta Manch Kathua.  On the occasion DDC vice chairman, Raghunandan Singh was chief guest and he paid floral tribute to Maharaja Gulab Singh. He was accompanied by various leaders and prominent persons of Yuva Rajput Sabha, Karni Sena, Kathua Rajput Sabha, and Ekta Manch. Number of people witnessed the programme and paid tribute to Maharaja Gulab Singh.
DDC vice chairman, Raghunandan Singh said that Maharaja Gulab Singh was a visionary king. He has preserved the identity of people of J&K and purchased the J&K State from British ruler for Rs 75 lakh. He has also ended disparity in the society and gave justice and equality to all religions.
