24 bovine animals seized, 3 arrested

JAMMU, Sept 16: The police seized 24 bovine animals and arrested  4 smugglers in this connection in Jammu, Rajouri and Udhampur today.
A police party from Thana Mandi during a naka intercepted a vehicle No. JK02AL/8060 and found four bovine animals being smuggled to Kashmir via Mughal Road. The police arrested driver Javed Iqbal, son of Ghulam Hussain, resident of Choudhary Nar and registered a case against him. The animals were rescued.
Udhampur police during naka at Kheri intercepted a truck No. JK14B/989 last night and found six bovine animals being transported to Valley. The police arrested  two persons in this connection. They  are  identified as Aijaz Ahmed, son of Ghulam Nabi of Banihal and Bhar Ahmed, son of Mohd Shafi, resident of  Banihal. Case FIR No. 284/13 was registered against them at Udhampur police station.
Satwari police party led by SHO Hassan Kamaal intercepted a truck No. JK02R/8459 early today here and seized 14 bovine animals. The truck driver Shakeel Ahmed, resident of Jakheni in Udhampur was arrested. A case has been registered in this connection.
