24 NDPS cases, 39 arrests in Baramulla

Srinagar, Feb 2: Police in Baramulla announced today that they registered 24 cases under the NDPS Act and arrested 39 drug peddlers in January alone.
Among those arrested are 3 hardcore drug peddlers booked under PIT NDPS PSA.  The police have also seized contraband substances valued at lakhs in the black market.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident today, the police arrested a drug peddler in Baramulla and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
Authorities reported that a police party from Police Post Wussan, led by Incharge PP Wussan at a checkpoint in Sultanpora, intercepted Shabir Ahmad Malla, son of Mohammad Dilawar Malla, resident of Sultanpora.
During the search, the police recovered 105 grams of contraband Charas-like substances from his possession.
“He has been arrested and shifted to PS Pattan where he remains in custody. Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Pattan, and investigations have been initiated.”
