POONCH, June 9: Four offices of Animal and Sheep Husbandry were found locked while at least 24 employees who were found absent in various Government offices were placed under suspension in Mendhar, Balakote and Mankote tehsils of district Poonch today.
Official sources said that on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Mohd Aijaz Asad, SDM Mendhar, Tanveer Ahmed Khan and Tehsildars, Mankote and Balakote along with concerned Naib Tehsildars, conducted surprise visit to about two dozen Government offices, hospitals and schools and found 24 employees absent from duty in Mendhar Sub Division.
The teams during visit to Sheep Husbandry Centre Jarran Wali Gali, Animal Husbandry Centre Mankote, Sheep Husbandry Ext Centre Dhar Galoon and Sheep Farm Balnoi, found them locked during mid- day. The teams prepared the list of employees posted there and sent it to the Deputy Commissioner, Poonch for suspension/ Government action. The locals of the area alleged that these offices often remain locked. The Administration also forwarded report to the concerned HODs/ Directors as well.
During visit to ITI Mendhar, the team found Instructor Rahul Dutta and Workshop Attendant Maroof Ahmed absent from duty; in BDO office Mendhar one Zahia Khanum MIS Operator was unauthorisedly absent from duty; in CDPO office of Mendhar Supervisor Menaz Tasmeen was found absent from duty; In Primary Health Centre Harni, Medical Officer Dr Om Parkash and ambulance drivers- Mohd Yousuf and Parvez Khan were found absent.
In Agriculture Office Harni, seven employees were found absent. They included JAO Mohd Azam, AEAs- Shahid Ahmed, Abdul Zubair Khan and Murtaza Ali, RAs- Anil Sharma, Azbar Hussain and Mohd Azad. At PHC Mankote Health Educator Mohd Yasin was found absent; In ZEO office Mankote Master Mohd Rashid, Master Mohd Taj and teacher Mohd Yunis were found absent from duty. In BDO office Mankote, computer operators Chandni Sharma and Mukhtar Ahmed were absent; whereas, in BDO office Balakote, Senior Assistant Mohd Anwar Khan and peons Nassir Ahmed and Saidullah were found absent.
SDM, Mendhar forwarded the list of absent employees to the Deputy Commissioner Poonch. DC Poonch, Mr Aijaz when contacted said that all these employees have been placed under suspension and list of all the employees posted at the offices/ Sheep and Animal Husbandry Centres, which were found locked is being generated. They will also be suspended and strict action under rules will be taken against them. He said this surprised exercise/ at random checking of Govt offices, hospitals and schools would be continued in entire Poonch district. The DDC also appealed to the former Sarpanches/ Panches and villagers in general to inform him directly in case of any employee remains absent from duty for days together or any school, hospital or other office is found locked in their area during duty hours.
