JAMMU, May 22: A 24-year-old youth today drowned in Jhajjar nallah near Badsoo bridge.
“Manik Gupta (24) son of Ashwani Kumar Gupta, resident of H No 69, Rehari Colony (Jammu), along with his two friends was on excursion near Jhajjar nallah while taking bath in the nallah near badsoo bridge, he drowned”, a police spokesman said.
He said that the friends of the youth raised an alarm following which the locals and the police launched a search operation and after hectic efforts the dead body of the youth was recovered.
“The body of the deceased was shifted to Primary Health Centre, Dansal for conducting autopsy while a case in this connection was registered at police station Jhajjar Kotli and investigations were underway”, the spokesman added.
