Corona curfew extended in 3 Valley districts

Srinagar, May 2: As the COVID-19 cases surged in Kashmir, the district administrations of Anantnag, Kulgam and Kupwara today announced extension in the ongoing Corona curfew.
District Magistrate Anantnag Dr Piyush Singla announced that Corona curfew in the South Kashmir district will continue with the existing level of measures which are in place since 28th April.
District Magistrate Kulgam, Dr Bilal Bhat, also took to micro-blogging site Twitter to inform that the Corona curfew will continue in Kulgam district till further orders.
DC Kupwara, Imam-ud-Din, has also announced the extension of the Corona curfew. “CORONA CURFEW- Kupwara will CONTINUE with the existing level of measures, which are in place since 30th April. So Corona curfew continues till further orders”, he tweeted.
Earlier yesterday Corona curfew was extended in Srinagar, Budgam and Baramulla districts of Kashmir after rise in the COVID-19 cases.
And Kashmir today reported 2421 fresh cases of COVID-19 while 13 people including a Radiologist died here taking the death toll to 2370.
Those who died today include a prominent Radiologist Dr Mustafa Aslam.
He was admitted to SKIMS and died last night.
Those who tested positive today include 1126 from Srinagar, Baramulla 268, Budgam 195, Pulwama 99, Kupwara 122, Anantnag 222, Bandipora 71, Ganderbal 68, Kulgam 188 and Shopian 62.
The fresh cases include seven local journalists working in Anantnag for various news organizations.
With fresh cases Srinagar has now 45648 positive cases with 9554 active, 35541recovered, 553 deaths; Baramulla has 13536 positive cases with 2561 active, 10776recovered, 199 deaths; Budgam reported 11107 positive cases with 1698 active cases, 9277 recovered, 132 deaths; Pulwama has 7332 positive cases with 1070 active, 6159 recovered and 103 deaths; Kupwara has 7311 positive cases, 1101 active, 6108 recoveries, 102 deaths; Anantnag district has 7507 positive cases with 1719 active, 5677 recovered, 111 deaths; Bandipora has 5602 positive cases, with511 active and 5027 recoveries, 64 deaths; Ganderbal has 5604 positive cases with 593 active, 4960 recoveries and 51 deaths; Kulgam has 4765 positive cases with 1509 active, 3189 recoveries and 67 deaths while as Shopian has 3169 positive cases, 415 active cases, 2712 recoveries and 42 deaths.
Moreover, 1453 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals including 848 from Kashmir division.
