24×7 healthcare facilities to be available at Govt Hospital Jagti: Javaid Mir

Directs officers to prepare action plan for hospital’s augmentation, services enhancement

JAMMU: Minister for Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation & Reconstruction and Floriculture Javaid Mustafa Mir today reiterated Government`s commitment for providing best and affordable health care facilities to Kashmiri migrants at Jagti in a meeting convened here today to discuss measures for augmentation of medicare facilities at Govt. Hospital, Jagti.

The Minister directed Principal Secretary Health to conceive an action plan within fifteen days for improving health care facilities at Jagti Hospital; the action plan would inter-alia include provision of specialist doctors, para-medic staff and lifesaving drugs. He further directed Principal Secretary Health to provide a new ambulance at the institution to meet any kind of medical exigency.

Javaid Mir also instructed for providing X-Ray machine and other essential medical equipment for the Hospital at the earliest. He stressed on improved coordination between Relief Organization and Department of Health Services for providing better health care facilities to the patients.

The Minister said that the government envisions enhancing facilities at this institution to cater to Jagti, Nagrota and neighbouring areas. He said that once the institution starts functioning 24×7, it will not only cater to needs of large number of patients from these areas but also decrease rush to Medical College Hospital.

The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary to Government, Health and Medical Education Department, Dr Pawan Kotwal, Commissioner Relief Jammu, M L Raina, Director Finance, Relief and Disaster Management Department, Additional Secretary, Relief and Rehabilitation Department besides Director, Health Services Jammu.
