UDHAMPUR, Dec 27: Police foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling at Majalta and rescued 25 bovines besides arresting three smugglers, here today.
Police team of Police Station Majalta, led by SHO Sohan Singh, intercepted one vehicle bearing registration number JK19A-3199 at PCP Battal. During checking, 25 bovines were found laden inside the vehicle in a very cruel manner. These bovines were being transported illegally without any valid permission.
Police rescued the bovines and arrested the smugglers, identified as Zaiul Islam, son of Aman Ullah of Batote, Mohd. Amir son of Farooq Ahmed of Batote and Mohd Tarif Mir, son of Abad Ullah of Batote.
In this regards, case FIR No. 122/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Majalta.
