25 bovines rescued, 6 smugglers arrested

JAMMU, Nov 22: Foiling various bovine smuggling bids, Police rescued 25 bovine animals and seized seven vehicles besides arresting six smugglers.
Sharing details, a Police spokesman said that on the directions of SSP Udhampur Dr Vinod Kumar, Police party of Police station Udhampur led by SHO Raghubir Singh intercepted one vehicle bearing registration number JK14H- 1531 at Jakhani
Upon checking, vehicle was found loaded with five bovines which were being transported towards Kashmir valley without any valid permission. All the bovines were rescued and the vehicle was seized while its driver managed to escape by taking the advantage of darkness.
In this regards case FIR number 494/2022 Under Section 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur.
Foiling another attempt, team of Police Post Roundomail, led by PSI Akhilesh Khajuria intercepted five vehicles bearing registration number JK02BD- 9830, JK08E-3108, JK21A -6801, JK02CV-6648 & JK02CX- 5691 and rescued 16 bovines.
Police also arrested drivers of these vehicles, who were identified as Tarsem Lal son of Garib Das of Ramgarh, Samba, Pawan Kumar, son of Subash Chander of Suchetgarh, Jammu, Happy Choudhary son of Balwant Raj of Ramgarh, Samba, Sunny Sharma son of Tilak Raj of R S Pura Jammu and Sanjeev Kumar son of Madan Lal of R S Pura Jammu.
In this regard, case FIR number 490/491/492/493/495 of 2022, under section 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act was registered at Police Station Udhampur.
In another case, Police party of Police post Tikri, led by PSI Abdul Satar and assisted by Insp Rajesh Sharma, SHO PS Rehambal, foiled one more bovine smuggling attempt, in which one smuggler namely Mohd Azad son of Mohd Yoqub of Kud Madha, Udhampur was smuggling four bovines in a vehicle bearing registration number JK14G- 4417.
Police arrested the accused and rescued all the bovines. In this regard, case FIR no. 273/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Rehambal.
