Anti encroachment drive continues

SAMBA, Feb 18: In its unrelenting efforts to free the State land from clutches of illegal occupants, district administration, Samba under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Samba, Rohit Khajuria, on second consecutive day today carried out an anti encroachment drive at village Baderi, tehsil Samba adjoining the New district Court Complex, Samba .
During today’s anti encroachment drive the illegally constructed structures were dismantled by pressing a J.C.B into service. It was informed by administration that the Khasra No. 72 of State land measuring 25 Kanals was retrieved from the encroachers.
Deputy Commissioner, Samba along with Senior Superintending of Police, Shakti Pathak, remained present on the site during the time of the drive and were vigilant against any untoward incident against the drive. Deputy Commissioner, Samba said that few nomadic families had settled in the Badheri village for past some time and after verifying from the records it was found that they were illegal occupants of the land so this anti encroachment drive was carried out to retrieve the land from their clutches..
He further cautioned the land grabbers and illegal occupants to immediately take voluntary corrective measures before Government takes due course of law.
On the occasion Tehsildar Samba Avtar Singh Jasrotia, DySP Hqrs Samba, TR Bhardhawaj, Naib Tehsildar Rattan Singh, SHO Samba, Shiv Dev Singh besides other officers from revenue and police were also present .
Meanwhile the family members protested against the drive saying that the land belonged to them and they had constructed a pacca house over past two decades which was dismantled by the authorities today without any information. They alleged that the authorities made the family and their children to live on footpath.
