UDHAMPUR, Dec 2: Police today recovered 25 kg poppy straw, which was being smuggled in a truck from Srinagar to Jammu.
The truck, bearing registration number PB02BU-9905, was intercepted by a Police party, led by SHO Udhampur Raghubir Singh. During search, 25kg poppy straw like substance was recovered from it.
Driver of the truck and his associate, both identified as Ashok Kumar, son of Raj Pal of Majitha road, Amritsar and Tarsem Singh son of Harjinder Singh of Majitha road, Amritsar, were arrested on the spot.
A case FIR Number 518/22, under Section 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Udhampur.
