JAMMU, June 7:  More than 25000 candidates today appeared in the Jammu and Kashmir Combined Entrance Test (CET), being conducted by the J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE).
On the first day today, candidates appeared in the Physics and Chemistry examinations, while tomorrow, Biology and Mathematics papers will be conducted.
According to Prof R D Sharma, Chairman of BOPEE, the test was conducted smoothly in more than 40 examination centres across the State at various Colleges and Universities where over 25 thousand candidates appeared.
In Jammu, 11 Centres have been established at various colleges and eight Sub-Centres in different Departments of Jammu University where 11478 candidates appeared for Physic test and 11466 for Chemistry test on Saturday.
Similarly, over 20 centres and sub-centres have been established in Srinagar colleges and Kashmir University where almost equal number of candidates appeared for the CET.
More than 5000 officers and officials have been engaged by the BOPEE for conducting CET, on the basis of which merit lists are declared for admission in various Engineering and Medical Colleges of the State.
To ensure that admission process at various professional colleges begins early, BOPEE will try its best to declare the CET result in next two weeks, Prof Sharma said.
