LADAKH, Apr 24: In a heartfelt tribute to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas, a new Selfie Point was unveiled at Hombotingla Pass in Ladakh.
This initiative, a joint effort by the Indian Army and the Tourism Department of Kargil, honors the valor and sacrifice of the soldiers who fought in the Kargil War.
The inauguration of the Selfie Point was led by SD Singh Jamwal, ADGP Ladakh, who marked the occasion as a moment of deep remembrance and gratitude.
The site, adorned with the slogan “I Love Indian Army,” offers stunning vistas of Kargil Town and the significant Batalik Sector, serving as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made in the defense of the nation.
Speaking at the event, ADGP Ladakh highlighted the Indian Army’s dual role in security and community welfare, noting that such initiatives significantly contribute to the promotion of tourism in Ladakh, which is a key industry for the Union Territory.
Local leaders and tourists alike praised the Selfie Point as a symbol of national pride and unity.
Haji Mohd Ali Khan, a respected local figure, commended the initiative for boosting national pride and solidarity.
Featuring the hashtag #KVDRajatJayanti, the Selfie Point invites visitors to capture and share their moments of respect for the bravery of our soldiers.
