UDHAMPUR, Nov 30: Chenani police rescued 26 bovine animals and arrested three smugglers.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Chenani Police Station laid a naka and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02E-4433.
During checking, police team rescued four bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested two smugglers, who have been identified as Rahil Ahmed, son of Mohammad Afzal Shah and Mukhtiar Ahmed, son of Abdul Aziz Ganai, both residents of Tehsil Devsar District Kulgam.
Meanwhile, on reliable information, a team from Chenani Police Station rescued 22 bovine animals from a truck and arrested one smuggler, who has been identified as Ditul Ali, son of Ached Ali of Assam.
Cases under relevant sections have been registered at Chenani Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Chenani Inspector Paramjeet Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Chenani Santokh Raj, Additional SP Udhampur Rajinder Katoch and SSP Udhampur Rajiv Pandey.
