26 gm heroin, 200 gm Ganja, liquor seized

JAMMU, July 25: Jammu Police achieved a major breakthrough by recovering 26 grams of heroin, 200 grams of ganja, and 30 bottles of illicit liquor in a successful raid near Narwal area under the jurisdiction of Police Station Bahu Fort.
The recovery came after the police received credible information about drug supply in the said area. Acting swiftly, special teams were constituted to carry out the operation.
The raid, led by SP South Shaheen Wahid and assisted by SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari, SHO Bahu Fort, Inspector Shiv Dev Singh, and incharge Police Post Narwal SI Lalit Sharma, resulted in the recovery of 30 bottles of illicit liquor from a shop owned by a person identified as Babi of Rajiv Nagar.
A case under relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort in this regard.
During further search, a suspected individual identified as Arun Kumar of Qasim Nagar was apprehended.
A total of 20 grams of heroin was found in his possession, leading to the registration of a case under FIR number 215/2023 under sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act at PS Bahu Fort.
Additionally, a suspected woman was rounded up, and a search led to the discovery of 6 grams of heroin and 200 grams of ganja. A case under FIR number 216/2023 under sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act was registered at PS Bahu Fort.
The accused are being thoroughly interrogated to ascertain the origin of the drug supply network.
SSP Jammu, Chandan Kohli, complimented the officers for breaking the drug nexus and emphasised to further break the drug supply chain in the District.
