27 bovines rescued

UDHAMPUR, Sept 17: Udhampur police foiled two bovine smuggling attempts in the jurisdiction of Police Station Rehambal and rescued 27 bovines.
A Police team of Police Station Rehambal, headed by SHO Nishat Ahmed, intercepted two vehicles (Tanker) bearing registration No. JK03B-1844 and truck bearing regd No. HR38U-6789 during naka checking.
Police found 11 bovines brutally packed in Tanker and 16 in truck for illegal transportation without any valid permission.
Driver of the truck namely Surender Singh son of Dallu of Saharanpur, UP was arrested on the spot, while the driver of the tanker fled away from the spot after leaving behind his tanker on road.
All the bovines were rescued and shifted to a safer place while both the vehicles were also seized. In this regards, two cases FIR No. 209/2024 & 210/2024 under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Rehambal.
