JAMMU, Feb 28: Apni Party State Coordinator for OBC, Madan Lal Chalotra today demanded 27 per cent reservation for OBC people in J&K.
Speaking at a public meeting in Shaligarh Basti in Satwari, Chalotra expressed concern over the growing resentment among OBC people due to poor response towards their demands.
“The Government should implement reservation quota of OBC people in J&K at par with that in other States of the country,” he maintained adding: “Being economically and socially backwards, the OBC people should be given their constitutionally guaranteed rights.”
Chalotra also said that OBCs were exploited politically and their demands remained unfulfilled for years.
Lakhan Singh, Amardeep Singh, Daljeet Singh, and others were also present in the meeting.
