2nd day of Jashn-e-Azadi opens with Punjabi Mushaira

JAMMU, Aug 20: On the 2nd day of Jashn-e-Azadi-2014 being organized by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages in collaboration with PG Department of Urdu, University of Jammu, a Punjabi Mushaira was held in the Prof. Gian Chand Jain Seminar Hall, University of Jammu.
Devinder Singh Vishavnagrik, Renowned Punjabi Poet presided over the function while Prof. Parvinder Kour, Head of PG Department of Punjabi was the chief guest and Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary was also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Vishavnagrik congratulated the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages for holding such an activity especially for the young generation.
Prof. Parvinder Kour, Head of P. G. Deptt. Of Punjabi thanked Academy for organizing Punjabi Mushaira for scholars and student of University.
Earlier, welcoming the august audience Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn highlighted the activities being undertaken by the Academy.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Yash Paul, Research Assistant of the Academy. Vote of thanks was presented by Ashok Gupta, Editor Dogri, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages.
A galaxy of intellectuals, writers from different walks of life, students and scholars were present on the occasion. On day 3rd, there will be composite mushaira of Urdu, Kashmiri, Gojri and Pahari languages.
