JAMMU, Dec 13: The 2nd edition of Yayavar Literary Festival was held today to promote, discuss and celebrate the world of literature and its presentation in various forms.
After the ceremonial lamp lighting followed by welcome address by the Founder Director Nupur Sandhu, the day rolled on with its inaugural speaker Pradeep Dutta (Senior Editor Times Now TV channel) followed by the very first panel discussion on “LAC Situation- a biblophilic exploration”. The panelists were Brig Rajiv Mahna (Retired), Kanwal Singh and Nishtha Mahajan.
Another panel was on “Sports and Disability– a relationship beyond barriers”, and it was comprised of Chandeep Singh, Kritika Khanna and Jasleen Kour while the third panel was on “Culture of the City and its imprint on Writing Style”. Its panel members were Shiv Nirmohi, Suriender Kaur Neer and Dr Chirdeep Malhotra.
Each panel discussion was very interesting and enriching. Johnny William (IG Retired) spoke on “Police Reforms; Public Perception”. Sugam Bral addressed the audience on “Trasition of Dogra Culture and heritage”. Group Captain Kamal Singh Obreh (Retired) shared his adventurous journey of being a Skydiver and spoke on “Importance of Adventures in life”. A young CEO Arush Mahajan gave insight on “Creating Influence through Technology”. Ajay Siotra, who was among top 10 contestants, spoke on Chef’s life, books and food as companion.
The festival was successful in covering different genres of books including Maaya, The India Way, Duggar ki Sanskriti, Servant of Sahibs, Second Wind, Prisoners of Geography, Paralympics Heroes. The festival also showcased the historic painting of Soni Mahiwal thru Mime performed by ShivAksh group headed by Shivani Wazir, Rajat Vohra brought poetry flavour.
Nirmal Mahna, Esther Williams, ILA, Vineet Aggarwal, Sunny Dua, Vivek Mahajan, Mohit, Vanshika , Chahat Mahajan, Adeep Mehta, Sanjiv Vaid rendered their support for smooth sailing of the event.
