2nd Vishwa Punjabi Sahitya Sammelan to be held in Kashmir

PUNE, Apr 22: On World Book Day, Sarhad, Pune will host 2nd Vishwa Punjabi Sahitya Sammelan in World’s Largest Book Village Aragam, Bandipora in J&K.
This was announced by Sant Singh Mokha, chief organiser of Vishwa Punjabi Sahitya Sammelan Organising Committee; Deepak Bali, international coordinator along with Anuj Nahar, Trustee, Sarhad, Pune and Sirajuddin Khan, coordinator, Book Village Aragam.
Mokha said: “We invite Punjabi writers, scholars and enthusiasts from across the world to join us in Aragam for this landmark international literary meet, as we celebrate the power of literature to transcend borders and foster unity.”
The book village in J&K has been conceptualised by Sarhad, Pune. The Second World Punjabi Literary Meet promises to be a celebration of Punjabi literature, culture, and language at international level, for which programmes will be held at SKICC, Srinagar and Wullar Lake, Bandipora.
A handout stated that dignitaries, including former PM Manmohan Singh and Prime Minister Narendra Modi appreciated the holding of the meet.
The Sammelan aims to showcase the diversity and richness of Punjabi literature while fostering dialogue and collaboration among its participants.
Tentative date of the Sammelan is March 2025.
