KATRA, June 14: Continuing drive against drug abuse in the holy town Katra, team of Police Check Post Balni today arrested a drug peddler and seized 3.4 kg cannabis from his possession.
The accused, identified as Suraj, son of Indru, resident of Serwad Katra was riding a Scooty bearing number JK14H-7058, when Police intercepted him.
In this regard, a case FIR number 289/2023, under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra and investigation initiated to unearth forward and backward linkages.
The whole operation was led by Inspr Suman of Anti Drug Unit Reasi and Inspr Nishant, SHO Katra, under the supervision of SP Katra Vipin Chandran.
While sharing details, SSP Reasi Amit Gupta said that Reasi Police is working on multipronged strategy to deal with the problem of drug abuse and will leave no stone unturned to curb this menace from the society.
