JAMMU, Aug 31: The Central Government has approved the extension of three additional posts in the Indian Forest Service (IFS) for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
These posts, at the level of Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (APCCF), were initially added temporarily in December 2020 under the Indian Forest Service (Cadre) Rules.
They were sanctioned for two years, up to December 18, 2022.

Following this, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change extended the tenure of these posts for another two years, ending on December 18, 2024.
Now, based on the recommendation of the Joint Cadre Authority and with the approval of the Central Government, these posts have been further extended beyond December 18, 2024.
Meanwhile, in a related development, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has reshuffled 16 Deputy Conservator of Forests (DCFs) across the AGMUT Cadre with immediate effect.
As per an order issued in this context, two IFS officers from the Union Territory (UT) of Ladakh, Dhawan Kumar Rawat and Suman Beniwal, have been transferred and posted in Arunachal Pradesh, while two IFS officers have been posted back to Ladakh.
Further, while IFS officer Mandeep Mittal has been transferred from Delhi to the UT of Ladakh and another officer Vishal V Surve, who was inducted into the Indian Forest Service (IFS) from the State Forest Service (SFS) Goa recently, has been transferred from Goa and posted in Ladakh.
