KATHUA, Mar 22: Kathua Police has arrested one person and recovered 20 litres of illicit liquor from his possession.
According to reports the Kathua Police Party on a tip off conducted a raid at Chak Drab Khan and apprehended one Ajit Kumar, son of Dhain Chand of Chak Drab Khan and recovered 20 liters of illicit liquor from him which he had kept for illegal sale.
A Case FIR No 94/2013US/S 48 (a) Excise Act stands registered against him at P S Kathua.
In another case Police party of P P Nagri on a tip off laid down Naka at Sumwan and intercepted a motorcycle bearing number PB06S-5641 and recovered 28 bottles of Old Neel XXX Rum from the possession of motor cyclist and his pillion rider.
The duo were identified Nand Ram, son of Gardhari Lal of Jarmal, tehsil and district Kathua and his pillion rider Ashwani Kumar, son of Jagdish Raj of Badyal.
The duo were taken into custody and a Case FIR NO 97/2013 U/S 48 (a) Excise Act was registered against them at P/S Kathua.
