3 arrested in Kulgam, Baramulla with charas, poppy

SRINAGAR, Mar 9: Police today arrested three drug peddlers in Kulgam and Baramulla, recovering poppy straw, charas, and other contraband from their possession.
According to authorities, a police party from Police Station Qazigund, manning a checkpoint at Wanpora Qazigund, intercepted a suspicious individual carrying a nylon bag who attempted to flee upon noticing the police.
However, the police apprehended him tactfully.
“He has been identified as Ajaz Ahmad, son of Abdul Sattar Bhat, a resident of Khargund Qazigund. During the search, officers recovered 4 kilograms of poppy straw from his possession,” police stated.
In Baramulla, authorities reported that a police party from Police Station Pattan, stationed at a checkpoint near Kalsari Pattan near the Grid Station, intercepted a person identified as Adil Ahmad Tantray, son of Mohammad Maqbool, a resident of Aram Mohalla, Pattan.
“During the search, 67 grams of charas was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and taken to PS Pattan, where he remains in custody,” police added.
Similarly, a police party from Police Station Kreeri, led by SHO PS Kreeri under the supervision of SDPO Kreeri, intercepted a person identified as Amir Altaf Pala, son of Mohd Altaf, a resident of Kranshivan Sopore, at a checkpoint established at Tapper Bala.
“During the search, 376 capsules of SpasmoProxyvon Plus were recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and taken to PS Kreeri, where he remains in custody.”
