JAMMU, Aug 29: Narwal police under “Operation Amrit” arrested three persons along with large quantity of illicit liquor pouches.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Narwal police post laid a naka and intercepted three persons, who were trying to hide themselves from the cops.
During checking, police recovered 142 pouches of illicit liquor from their possession and arrested them.
The arrested persons have been identified as Amir Hussain, son of Mohammad Hussain, a resident of Anantnag, Jamel Sheikh, son of Mohammad Yousuf Sheikh, a resident of Brakpura, Srinagar and Umar Wahid, son of Abdul Wahid, a resident of Qazigund.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered against them at Bahu Fort police station and investigation started.
Police team led by Incharge Narwal police post SI Vikram Singh Manhas made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Bharat Sharma, SDPO East Arun Jamwal and SP South Sandeep Choudhary.
