3 arrested with stolen property worth lakhs

JAMMU, Apr 12: Nagrota police arrested three thieves along with stolen property worth lakhs.
As per police sources, Police Station Nagrota today received a complaint from Anil Leekha, son of Jagdish Leekha of Channi Himmat that his two tankers bearing registration numbers JK02BT-0870 and JK02CL-8770 were parked at Jagti Nagrota and today morning he found that all tyres and batteries of tankers have been stolen by some unknown persons.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 168/2020 under section 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation was started immediately.
Police immediately swung into action and visited the spot as well as checked CCTV footage of all shops and institutions on National Highway.
A proper chain of links was built which lead to tracing of one Junga parked at the bank of nallah near Kerli Jagti. The Junga bearing registration number JKO2AE-8605 was seized and it’s owner namely Talib Hussain, son of Juma Khatana of Kandiwara, District Anantnag, at present Tanda Jagti was lifted and during questioning he admitted his involvement in the crime. He also disclosed the names of his two accomplices namely Manzoor Hussain, son of Kallu Kamraji of kandivara Tehsil Kokernag District Anantnag, at present Tanda Jagti and Mohammad Shakeel, son of Mohammad Farooq of Gusunderwah Tehsil Kokernag District Anantnag, at present Tanda Jagti.
Accordingly all the three persons were arrested and on their disclosure 6 tyres alongwith rim and 2 batteries worth Rs 2.50 lakh approximately were recovered from Jhajjar Kotli area.
Police party headed by SHO Nagrota Inspector Mohammad Shoket and assisted by SI Ankuj Kumar made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Sharma, SP Rural Suram Singh and SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil.
