JAMMU, Nov 10: Police under ‘Operation Chetak’ arrested three bike lifters and recovered 5 stolen motorcycles from the areas, falling under the jurisdiction of Akhnoor police station.
As per police sources, teams from Akhnoor police station laid a naka at Kguga Morh and Chowki Choura.
During checking, police arrested three bike lifters and recovered 5 stolen motorcycles worth Rs 3,80,000 from their possession.
The accused have been identified as Aashiq Khan, son of Azam Khan of Tuli Tehsil Mahore District Reasi, Mohammad Imran, son of Mohammad Rashid of Challas Morha Drumada District Rajouri and Sanjay Kumar alias Makhan, son of Babu Ram of Tandwal District Rajouri.
With the arrest of three bike lifters, Akhnoor police solved five theft cases registered under FIR Number 160/15 under Section 379 RPC and 65/16 under Section 457 and 380 RPC with police station Akhnoor, FIR Number 74/16 under Section 379 RPC with police station City and two cases with police station Sunderbani.
Police team led by SHO Akhnoor Inspector Pushpinder Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Gurvinder Pal Singh and SP Rural Arun Gupta.
