REASI, Sept 10: Continuing its drive against drug abuse, teams of District Police Reasi nabbed three bootleggers from Jyotipuram, Chassana, Tulli Banna areas and recovered illicit liquor from their possession.
Reports said that Police Station Chassana received information through reliable source that one person namely Chain Singh son of Lachman Singh of Dandakote Tehsil Chassana, presently putting up at Manjikote, Tehsil Mahore, was preparing hooch at his house. Acting on this information, a Police team, led by SHO Chassana, Insp Parmodh Singh raided the house and recovered about 10 litres lahan and utensils used for manufacturing illicit liquor.
In this regard case FIR Number 65/2022, under Section 48 (ADE) Excise Act was registered at Police Station Chassana and the accused was arrested.
In another success, Police team of Police Post Jyotipuram, led by PSI Rajat Sahani laid a surprise naka near Jyotipuram and recovered three litres of hooch from Uttam Singh, son of Chaju Ram of Bakal Reasi.
Police arrested the accused and registered case FIR Number 226/2022, under Section 48 A Excise Act at Police Station Reasi for further investigation.
Team of Police Post Banna, led by PSI Mayank Jamwal apprehended one person namely Tasbir Singh son of Kartar Singh of Tulli, Tehsil Chassana and recovered 1.5 litres illicit liquor from his possession. A case FIR Number 66/2022, under Section 48 A Excise Act has been registered in this connection at P/S Chassana.
