JAMMU, Nov 16: Udhampur Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued three animals besides arresting two smugglers under the jurisdiction of Police Station Rehmbal.
Reports said that acting on reliable information, a party from Police Post Tikri laid a surprise naka on the National Highway in the wee hours today and intercepted one Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK02BC-3143 which was on its way from Jammu to Kashmir.
During search of the vehicle, three bovine animals were found packed inside. Police rescued the animals and arrested both the smugglers namely Bashir Ahmed of Dabler R S Pura and Mohd Sadiq of Chanderkote.
In this connection, a case was registered at Police Station Rehmbal for further investigation.
