UDHAMPUR, Jan 3: Udhampur Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued three animals even as the smugglers managed to flee.
Reports said that a Police party of Police Station Udhampur laid naka at Jakhani and intercepted a bearing registration number JK02B-2187. Sensing trouble, driver abandoned the vehicle on the roadside and fled away from the spot by taking advantage of heavy traffic on the road.
During checking, three bovine animals were found illegally loaded in this vehicle. All the bovine animals were rescued and the vehicle was also seized.
In this connection, a case FIR number 05/2019 U/S 188, RPC, 3 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur and further investigation is going on.
