3 bovine smugglers held

JAMMU, June 29: Police today rescued three bovine animals and arrested three smugglers from Akhnoor and Nagrota areas of the winter capital.
A police spokesman said that, on some specific information police party from Akhnoor Police Station led by SHO Mahesh Sharma laid a naka and intercepted a Tata mobile bearing registration number JK11A-2843.
During checking, police recovered two bovine animals and arrested two persons, who have been identified as Tofail Hussain, son of Mohammad Anif, resident of Bharon, district Rajouri and Mohd Aziz, son of Dil Mohd of Thuthi, district Rajouri, he added.
A case under FIR number 144/13 under Section 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act has been registered and investigation started.
Meanwhile, on some specific information Nagrota Police today laid a naka and intercepted a load carrier bearing registration number JK02AB-1715.
During checking, police recovered one bovine animal and arrested a person, who has been identified as Rinku Kumar, son of Harbans Lal of Gol Gujral. The other accused namely Mohd Altaf fled away from the spot, he added.
A case FIR number 199/13 under Section 188 RPC has been registered at Nagrota Police Station and investigation started.
