3 charge-sheeted in cheating case

JAMMU, May 23: Special Municipal Mobile Magistrate Jammu, Ashwani Kumar Sharma has charge-sheeted three persons, who had cheated the complaint of Rs 10 lakh.
The complainant Tapeesh Dutta, son of Sant Ram Dutta of Vikas Nagar had advanced Rs 10 lakh as loan to her neighbour Aradhana Kumar in lieu of gold ornaments kept as security by the woman. However, when Aradhana Kumar refused to return Rs 10 lakh and asked the complainant to sell out the ornaments she had given as security, the complainant long with the accused went to Jawahar Jeweller and Ifthikar Salaria.
The jewelers also cheated the complainant in league with Aradhana Kumar and finally the matter reached in the court of Special Municipal Mobile Magistrate.
After going through the record and hearing Senior Prosecuting Officer for the State and counsel for the accused persons, Special Municipal Mobile Magistrate observed, “there is sufficient evidence against the accused persons for the purposes of charge”, adding “the accused as such are charge-sheeted for the commission of offence under Section 420/120-B RPC”.
The charge sheet was read over and explained to the accused persons, who pleaded not guilty and claimed to be tried. Accordingly, the court directed prosecution to lead its evidence in support of its case.
