JAMMU, May 1: Three police cops were arrested for entering into the ‘jhuggi’ of a migrant labourer and taking away Rs 7,000 cash forcefully from him.
A police spokesman said that, a migrant labourer namely Nirmal Bhuia lodged a complaint with police station Janipur alleging therein that three men dressed in police uniform entered in his jhuggi during the intervening night of April 30 and May 1 and took away cash Rs 7,000 from him forcefully.
During the course of investigation, SHO police station Janipur Inspector Ajit Singh identified those three policemen assigned with Flying-12 Roop Nagar Janipur. The cops have been identified as namely Constable Rash Pal Singh, Constable Davinder Singh and SPO Sajjad Ahmed.
The three policemen were arrested and a case FIR number 93/15 under Section 451 and 384 RPC has been registered at police station Janipur against them for further investigation.
Meanwhile, SSP Jammu Uttam Chand has ordered suspension of all the three accused policemen. SSP Jammu stated that there will be zero tolerance on any such criminal misconduct by men in uniform as they bring bad name to Police Department and loss of confidence of citizens in police.
