Monk dies, 5 new cases in Leh

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/LEH, Jan 30: Three persons died of COVID-19—two in Kashmir and one in Jammu while 76 persons tested positive for the virus and 135 other recovered.
In the Union Territory of Ladakh, another Monk died of Coronavirus while five persons tested positive.
A 77-year-old man from village Naugran in Bishnah tehsil of Jammu district died of COVID-19 at Fortis Hospital in Amritsar.
Eighteen persons tested positive for Coronavirus in the Jammu region today—eight each in Jammu and Poonch districts and one each in Udhampur and Doda districts. No new cases were reported in rest of the districts of the region.
Twenty five persons recovered from the virus today, 21 in Jammu district and four in Reasi.
Jammu region now has 51539 Corona cases. Among them, only 190 are active positives as 50628 have recovered from the virus and there have been 721 casualties.
Maximum 371 Corona fatalities have been recorded in Jammu district followed by 654 in Doda, 57 Udhampur, 54 Rajouri, 52 Kathua, 40 Samba, 24 Poonch, 22 Kishtwar, 21 Ramban and 15 in Reasi district.
A 78-year-old Monk of Liker Monastery and a resident of Nubra Diksit died of COVID-19 in Leh district today. This has taken Ladakh’s Corona toll to 130—86 in Leh and 44 in Kargil district. Four Monks have died of COVID-19 in Leh so far.
Five fresh cases were reported from Ladakh today, all in Leh district taking Corona count to 9719. However, there are only 70 active cases as 9519 persons have recovered from the virus.
Meanwhile, two persons died of COVID-19 in Kashmir today while 58 others tested positive.
Two COVID-19 positive persons who were admitted to hospitals in Srinagar died today.
Those who tested positive include 27 from Srinagar, 4 Baramulla, 3 Budgam, 9 Pulwama,   1 Kupwara, 4 Anantnag, 3 Bandipora, 5 Ganderbal, 1 from Kulgam and 1 from Shopian.
As per officials figures, 26,185 positive cases including 456 deaths and 25,504 recoveries are from Srinagar, 8,115 including 174 deaths and 7,896 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,766 including 7,609 recoveries and 117 deaths are from Budgam, 5,719 including 5,581 recoveries and 88 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,658 including 95 deaths and 5,530 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,900 including 4,758 recoveries and 85 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,692 cases including 4,606 and 61 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,611 including 4,518 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,694 including 2,616 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,570 including 2,506 recoveries and 39 deaths are from Shopian.
With the fresh cases, the number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 72,910 including 71,124 recoveries and 1,215 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 761 including 571 from Kashmir division.
With 135 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 121,752, which is 97.81 percent of the total cases.
