3-day ICRA on pain concludes

JAMMU, Nov 21: The three -days International Conference on Recent Advances on Pain (ICRA 2021) which was inaugurated on November 19 concluded today on virtual platform.
It was the first International pain conference to be held virtually from J&K UT in which 134 international and national eminent faculties joined the ICRA Pain to share their experiences in the field of pain and palliative care medicine.
Total 578 delegates all over the globe attended the conference. The conference was organised by Daradia Pain Foundation and Interventional Pain and Spine Centre.
It was inaugurated by Dr Jitendra Singh, Minister of State in PMO with Independent Charge for the Ministry of Science and Technology.
The theme of this year’s conference was “Expanding Horizons of Pain Medicine”.
The present day role pain physicians’ is multimodal and not limited to the Minimally Invasive Pain and Spine Interventions Interventional (MIPSI), both under fluoroscopy and USG.
Percutaneous Spine Endoscopic Interventions, Percutaneous Vertebroplasty, Percutaneous Baloon Kyphoplasty, Regenerative Medicine, Palliative medicine,
Neuromodulation are some of the key MIPSI’S of Pain Physician. In addition to this pain specialists have emerged as leaders in managing the Post COVID chronic pains.
The competitive sessions and a special session dedicated to our Emerging Pain Physicians, were incorporated in the scientific programme, which included Panel discussion, video presentation of pain relieving procedures, pain quiz and art of presenting workshop for young pain physicians. ICRA Pain awards were given in different categories for pain physicians.
Dr Gautam Das, Dr Pankaj Surange and Dr Gaurav Sharma noted pain and spinal specialists were the patron of the conference.
Dr Rohit Lahori Interventional Pain and Palliative Care Specialist posted at Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar, Jammu was the organizing secretary of the conference. He has been awarded with the International Award for low cost treatment for year 2021.
