3-day MoRTH workshop on Road Safety culminates

LEH, Sept 22: The three-day road safety related capacity building programme organised by Union Ministry of Road Transport & Highways culminated successfully in Leh wherein officers from Transport and Traffic Departments participated.
On this occasion Secretary Transport Ladakh, Amit Sharma said that basic purpose of organising this road safety workshop in Ladakh was to enhance capacities of officials working in Traffic and Transport Departments towards latest techno reforms taking place in Road Safety including Automated Vehicle Inspection and Automated Driving Test which is the need of the hour.
RTO Ladakh, Sheikh Nazir was Nodal Officer of UT whereas Sandeep Kumar was SPOC of MoRTH who brought top expert faculties from all over the nation to enhance skills of UT trainee officers through their knowledgeable sessions which included Anil Chhilkara, DC Transport, New Delhi; Ashok Shinde, RTO Transport Department, Maharashtra and Dheerendra Samineni, Road Safety Expert, Safe Drive India.
Amit Sharma, also holding charge of Transport Commissioner in Ladakh, took a detailed feedback from the visiting faculties as well as the officials of Transport and Traffic Department about the workshop who indeed expressed that it is a win-win refresher activity.
Amit assured the trainees that it shall become a regular feature in Ladakh in which the next leg shall be organised in Kargil district soon so that Transport and Traffic Department officers there can get abreast with the latest developments in Road Safety domain.
He further disclosed that there shall also be virtual workshops organised with MoRTH support to achieve maximum Road Safety, minimising accident rates and adherence to latest traffic rules in Ladakh.
