3-day revenue inspection by RD S&LR concludes

Udhampur, Sept 1: A comprehensive three-day revenue inspection of Tehsil Headquarters Udhampur by Amit Sharma, Regional Director, Survey & Land Records (Ex-Officio Settlement Officer) Udhampur/Reasi and his team concluded today with detection of anomalies, suggestion of remedial measures and passage of necessary instructions to revenue staff in position.
It is worthwhile to mention here that such an extensive and detailed inspection of Udhampur Tehsil was conducted after a gap of few years wherein revenue records were scrutinized and physically checked/monitored in each section of Tehsil Headquarters Udhampur by Regional Director, S&LR Amit Sharma and spot instructions were issued for ratification of anomalies in same.
There were few shortcomings pointed out especially regarding mutations being done regarding deposition of Mutation fees, affixing stamps/designation mentioning of attesting officers, missing ShajraTatrimas, etc which needed to corrected on immediate basis.
Similarly, the Revenue Inspection team pointed out other anomalies related to maintenance of few revenue registers such as Peshi Registers and Disposal of Remand Cases, Miscellaneous File Indexing and Tagging which were a must for all Tehsil Headquaters.
RD S&R Amit Sharma also inspected the condition of building and found it unsuitable for keeping old revenue records. He assured that the matter will be taken up with higher authorities to look for a safe alternative for upkeep of these vital records of Tehsil Headquaters. Moreover, Lathas and Massavies of the Tehsil were checked and it was found that they were kept in boxes properly, however, damage to same was still to the extent of 50% to 75% in some cases.
The other members of Regional Directorate who accompanied RD S&LR Amit Sharma included NT Narinder Kumar, NT Karnail Singh, Patwari Ghulam Mohammad, Patwari Rakesh, Patwari Arshad, Head Assistant Sanjay Trakoo and others.
