JAMMU, Mar 26: NSS Unit of Government College of Education (GCoE) Jammu today started three-day special camp on SVEEP (Systematic Voter’s Education and Electoral Participation) awareness.
The special camp was organized under the leadership of Dr Jyoti Parihar, Principal of the College and NSS Programme Officer Prof Sarita Dogra.
The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from NSS members and faculty members namely Prof Satish Sharma, Dr Shubhra Jamwal, Professor Roopa Kumari and Professor Kiran Thapa, who made all out efforts to make the event impactful and enlightening.
The theme of SVEEP awareness was chosen to educate and empower young voters about their rights and responsibilities towards electoral process. The camp is aimed to foster a sense of civic duty and active participation among the youth and to highlight the importance of every vote in shaping the nation’s future.
On the first day of the camp, an orientation session was conducted to familiarize participants with the objectives and activities planned for the event. This was followed by a vibrant Rangoli competition, where students showcased their artistic talents while incorporating themes related to voter awareness.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Jyoti Parihar, Principal of GCoE highlighted the role youth have to play in this democratic exercise and how they can motivate people in their respective areas for participation in the battle of ballots.
During the next two days, the GCoE will conduct a number of activities to encourage electors to participate the elections overwhelmingly.
