3-day training programme of NSSO concludes

JAMMU, June 19: The three -day regional training programme organized by National Sample Survey Office (NSSO), Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation Government of India concluded here today.
The NSS 72nd round of Socio-Economic Survey is earmarked for data collection on domestic tourism expenditure, household expenditure services and durable goods and house hold consumer expenditure with the survey period of one year starting from July 1, 2014.
As per a handout the data collected by NSSO through its large scale sample survey conducted all over India are widely used by planners, policy makers, researcher scholars and Government and non Government organizations.
It said during the 72nd round survey the information will be collected through special designated schedules for preparing the list of houses, householders and for interviewing the heads of the selected household of domestic tourism expenditure and household consumer expenditure with details of food and non food as well as household on service and durable goods.
The regional Training Camp was inaugurated by Mrs Vishu Maini Deputy Director General, NSSO (FOD), J&K who in her address stated that the main aim of RTC was to train the officers of NSSO and Directorate of Economic and Statistics so that they become fully conversant with the concepts and definitions of the subject matter covered in the survey and most importantly the data collection techniques.
The welcome address was read by S L Khajuria senior Statistical Officer and vote of thanks was proposed by M K Raina, Senior Statistical Officer NSSO.
