Yog for health, well-being

JAMMU, Nov 25: The three day long All India Pranayam Prashikshan Shiver held at Bhartiya Yog Sansthan, Yog Ashram Gole Gujral, Jammu from November 23 concluded today. A total of 620 Yog Adhikaries from 23 states, participated in the Shiver.
Today Yogacharya, Desh Raj Ji, general secretary, Bhartiya Yog Sansthan held a two hour interaction with some prominent citizens of Jammu who had been invited by the Sansthan for the purpose.
Deputy Mayor, Purnima Sharma, Advocate General, D C Raina, M. L. C. Romesh Arora , C A and Ex Minister, Sat Sharma, Retired Sessions Judge Paviter Singh, Director ISM Dr Angchuk, Chairman Citizen Co operative Bank, Parveen Sharma, M D Aggarwal Trading Co, Sharat Chander Aggarwal, M D Kawa Institue, Mohinder Katoch, Corporators Dwarka Choudhary Satpal Karlupia, and Ashok Kumar, Brig (retd) M M Harjai and other dignitaries participated in the interaction.
While introducing the organization Yogacharya Desh Raj Ji informed that the Sansthan has dedicated itself to the cause of teaching Yoga to people free of any cost. The mission “Jio aur Jivan do” is aimed at making people happy and healthy through Yoga, an ancient Indian science for physical, mental and spiritual well-being.
Yog is a complete science which teaches us to live a healthy life and it has become all the more necessary in view of life style changes and sedentary living. The changed life style and changed food habits inlast 3-4 decades has increased the stress levels of people leading to various diseases like Diabetes, Hypertension, reduced Immunity etc. India has earned a dubious distinction of being ‘World Capital of Diabetes’ All this can be reversed and slowed down by following the doctrine of Ashtang Yog (a gift from our Saints) in our daily life, he said. Prevention is better than cure and Yog is the best way to prevent diseases and its daily practice ensures health longevity. Prominent citizens appreciated the Yog Inputs received during the interaction.
While concluding the Shiver, Satya Pal president BYS, Jammu thanked the visiting Yog Adhikaries for their active and disciplined participation in the Shiver. He hoped that shiver has added value to their ‘Yog Knowledge’ for further dissemination to the seekers.
