3 die of asphyxiation

SRINAGAR, Mar 14: Two brothers were among three persons who died due to alleged gas leakage inside a tin shed in Central Kashmir’s Humhama area of Budgam district on Thursday night.
A police spokesman said the three deceased were carpenters and have been living in a shed of an under construction house, where they were working, at Friends Enclave, Humhama, near Srinagar Airport.
“They died after inhaling gas generated from a heating gadget which was in use due to sever chill,” the spokesman said.
He said they deceased have been identified as Nisar Ahmed Najar, Fayaz Ahmed Najar sons of Ghulam Ahmed of Watkaloo, Chadoora, and Jamsheed Ahmed Dar son of Muhammad Anwar of Kultro Chadoora in Budgam district.
Police has registered a case and an inquiry is ongoing, he said.
