3 die of COVID in Valley; 97 test +ve, 54 recover

SRINAGAR/JAMMU, Mar 10: Three persons died of COVID-19 in Kashmir today while 97 tested positive in the Union Territory and 54 others recovered from the virus.
Three COVID-19 deaths were reported in Kashmir taking the death toll in Jammu and Kashmir to 1,968 while 81 persons tested positive for Corona in Valley.
Those who tested positive include 46 from Srinagar, 16 Baramulla, 6 Budgam, 1 Pulwama, 4 Kupwara, 1 Anantnag, 4 Ganderbal, 2 Kulgam and 1 from Shopian.
With fresh cases, the number of cases in Kashmir division has reached 75,142 including 73,188 recoveries and 1,239 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 899 including 715 from Kashmir division.
With 54 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 124,421, which is 97.76 percent of the total cases.
Meanwhile, 16 persons tested positive for Coronavirus in Jammu region including 12 in Jammu district and one each in Doda, Kathua, Kishtwar and Poonch districts. No fresh cases were reported in rest of the five districts.
Seven persons recovered from the virus in the region including two each in Jammu, Udhampur and Reasi district and one in Kishtwar.
Jammu region now has 52146 Corona cases. Among them, 184 are active positives while 51233 have recovered from the virus and there have been 729 casualties.
Maximum 377 casualties have been reported in Jammu district followed by 64 Doda, 57 Udhampur, 55 Rajouri, 53 Kathua, 40 Samba, 24 Poonch, 22 Kishtwar, 21 Ramban and 16 in Reasi district.
