3 die, one injured in two road mishaps

KATHUA, Oct 24: Three persons including a lady were killed while a youth was injured in two separate road accidents in Samba and Kathua district yesterday.
They have been identified Amandeep, 28 son of Rishpal Singh of Rangloor Ramgarh and Sanjit Kumar, 30, S/o Darshan Lal of Nathwal in Ramgarh presently at Vijaypur in Samba district.
According to Samba Police two youth were killed after their motorbike bearing number PB 08B 1417 was hit by an ambulance bearing number PB02AG 9628 at Raya More near Vijaypur yesterday. The Ambulance with a dead body was on its way from Jammu to Gaziabad, UP when it hit the motorbike, which was on its way from Samba to Vijaypur, police added.
Police said while Amandeep died at the site of accident, Sanjeev was referred to GMC Jammu where he succumbed to his injuries. The dead bodies were handed over to their relatives after postmortem for last rites.
The Vijaypur police has registered a case and the driver of the ambulance has been arrested.
In another accident at Jagatpur near Lakhanpur in Kathua district a lady died after she was hit by a motorcycle yesterday. The motorcyclist has also received serious injury and he has been referred to GMC Jammu for treatment.
According to Lakhanpur Police, Maya Devi, 50, wife of Bishen Kumar of Ward 6 Shaheedi Chowk Kathua died after she was hit by a motorcycle at Jagtpur yesterday.
The Lakhanpur Police has registered a case under Section 279/304 CRPC. The motorcyclist who has been identified as Vicky Kumar S/o Ved Raj of Govindsar was also seriously injured and referred to GMC Jammu.
