3 docs terminated after accident

KISHTWAR, Nov 26: Three National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) doctors, who were found unauthorizedly absent from duties on the fateful day of accident in Purana Kadal area of Marwah, in which three persons including a couple were killed and three others received critical injuries, were terminated from their services with immediate effect.
As per official sources, three persons including a couple were killed, while three others got seriously injured, when the Tata Sumo, they were traveling in skidded off the road and plunged into deep gorge near Purana Kadal area of Marwah on Tuesday.
After getting information, police team and locals rushed to the spot, rescued the injured persons and also retrieved the bodies from the gorge.
All the injured persons and bodies of the deceased were shifted to Marwah Hosptial in police and other vehicles.
Due to non-availability of doctors, the relatives of the injured persons expressed resentment and held protest for sometime. They raised slogans against the Health authorities and demanded action against the doctor.
The unauthorized absence matter was reported to DC Kishtwar, GN Balwan, who directed Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kishtwar Dr Sham Prashad to look into the matter and bring the facts into his notice.
During verification of the facts, it came to fore that the NRHM doctors namely Arshad Rafiq, Nainsila Kumari and Shahzad Ahmad posted at Critical Health Centre (CHC) Marwah were unauthorizedly absent on the fateful day.
After consulting DC Kishtwar, GN Balwan, the termination order of the said doctors from their services with immediate effect was issued by CMO Kishtwar.
