SRINAGAR, July 27: Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara has placed Dr. Idrees, Block Medical Officer, Zachaldara and Dr. Gulzar Parra, Assistant Surgeon under suspension with immediate effect for breach of peace and tranquillity in block Zachaldara and pending enquiry they were attached with the office of Chief Medical Officer, Kupwara till further orders.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Handwara has been nominated as Enquiry Officer who will furnish his report within 15 days.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner, Shopian, Javed Khan conducted surprise visit to District Hospital, Shopian and inspected its functioning.
During the course of inspection, Dr. Nusrat, Gynaecologist was found absent from duty and DC ordered her suspension with immediate effect.
The DC also issued instructions to the Chief Medical Officer, Shopian to detail on night duty two doctors, one male and one female at Shopian Hospital for the convenience of the patients. He also issued instructions to improve the sanitation facilities in and around the hospital.
