UDHAMPUR, Apr 8: Three dozen sheep were crushed to death by a speeding Tipper on Dhar road, near village Darsu, here last night.
The mishap took place around 11.30 pm late last night when the Tipper, bearing registration number JK0AT-9487 drove through a flock of sheep of a shepherd Bakerwal causing on the spot death of 36 sheep besides injuries to 15 others.
However, owner of the livestock, Mohd Tufail son of Nazir Ahmed, resident of Kokarnag, Anantnag and his family members had a narrow escape. The nomadic family along with their livestock was on move from Samba to Kashmir.
Police has arrested the truck driver and registered a case in this connection at Police Station Udhampur.
