JAMMU, Feb 28: Gajansoo, Bakshi Nagar and Nagrota police arrested 3 drug peddlers, one absconder and two bovines’ smugglers.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from BPP Gajansoo led by ASI Sanjeet Singh laid a naka near Dub Ditta and intercepted a lady, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 690 intoxicant capsules from the possession of the lady and arrested her.
The arrested lady has been identified as Suma Devi, wife of late Shankar Lal of Dub Ditta.
A case under FIR Number 37/2020 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kanachak and investigation started.
The arrest was made under the supervision of SHO Kanachak Inspector Ravi Singh Parihar, SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul and SP Rural Suram Singh.
Meanwhile, a team from Bakshi Nagar Police Station arrested an absconder and two drug peddlers.
The arrested absconder was identified as Yaqob Hans, son of Raju Hans of Mazdoor Basti, Resham Ghar, Bakshi Nagar, District Jammu.
He was wanted in a case registered under FIR Number 106/2012 under Sections 341, 323 and 506 RPC. Arrest warrant under Section 512 CrPC also stands issued against him.
However, a team from Bakshi Nagar Police Station during patrolling in Shakti Nagar market intercepted a Santro car bearing JK02T-7479.
During checking, police team recovered 2974 intoxicated capsules, 350 grams cannabis and Rs 21,400 cash from the possession of two persons traveling in the car and arrested them.
The arrested persons were identified as Vijay Kumar alias Babu, son of Ram Paul of Shakti Nagar and Ravi alias Kaka, son of late Tara Chand of Shiv Nagar, District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 42/2020 under Section 8/20/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bakshi Nagar and investigation started.
The arrest was made under the supervision of SDPO West Amit Sharma.
In another incident, a team from Nagrota Police Station led by SHO Inspector Mohammad Shoket under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma and SP Rural Suram Singh Bovine laid naka near Ban Toll Plaza and intercepted two vehicles bearing registration numbers JK14C-9484 and JK21D-0643.
During frisking, police team rescued 8 bovine animals from the vehicles and arrested two cattle smugglers, who were identified as Vijay Kumar, son of Inder Kumar of Heerachak Tehsil Vijaypur District Samba and Mohammad Amin, son of Abdul Aziz of District Shopian, at present Khanpur Nagrota.
Cases under FIR Numbers 105/2020 and 108/2020 under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
