UDHAMPUR, Nov 2: Udhampur Police today arrested three drug peddlers in two different cases and recovered 11.87 grams of heroin like narcotic substance from their possession.
According to reports, a scooty bearing registration number JK14D-1209 was intercepted by a Police party, led by Incharge PP Tikri, PSI Abdul Satar and assisted by SHO Rehambal Rajesh Sharma, under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Sahil Mahajan, while performing duty at naka point Tikri, Udhampur.
During frisking, 9.35 grams of heroin like substance was recovered from the possession of scooty rider, identified as Amir Khan, son of Mir Qasim of village Bindla, Ramnagar. Police seized the recovered contraband and arrested the accused on the spot. In this regard, case FIR Number 250/2022, under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Rehambal.
In another success, Police party of PS Ramnagar, headed by PSI Varun Sharma and assisted by SHO Pushpinder Singh under the supervision of SDPO Ramnagar, Dr Bhishm Dubey, intercepted two drug peddlers near Ramnagar Bus Stand area and recovered 2.35 grams of heroin from their possession.
Police seized the recovered contraband and arrested both the accused, identified as Vickram Jeet Singh, son of Rajinder Singh of Ward number 10, Ramnagar and Rahul Sharma, son of Romesh Chader of Ward number 09, Ramnagar.
Case FIR number 142/2022, under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered in this connection in PS Ramnagar. Further investigations in both the cases were going on to unearth the backward and forward linkages.
