3 drug peddlers arrested

UDHAMPUR, Mar 29: Continuing its war against drugs abuse, Udhampur Police today arrested three drug peddlers and recovered 24.5 grams of contraband Heroin like substance from their possession.
A Police patrolling party of PP Sudhmahadev, led by PSI Rahul Singh, under the supervision of SDPO Chenani Sheikh Tahir Amin, intercepted two suspects near Deol Morh. On frisking, Police recovered 17.5 grams of Heroin from their possession.
The duo, identified as Suraj Singh, son of Kaka Ram of Margana, Chenani and his brother Ranjeet Singh, were arrested on the spot. In this regard, case FIR number 55/2023, under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered in PS Chenani.
In another case, Police patrolling party of PP Tikri, led by PSI Abdul Satar under the supervision of Gurmeet Singh, DySP Hqrs Udhampur, apprehended one person near Manthal area when he was on way from Jammu towards Katra on foot. On his frisking, seven grams of Heroin like narcotic substance was recovered from his possession.
Identified as Mohd Shabir, son of Mohd Sadiq, resident of Belicharana, Jammu, the accused was arrested and the recovered contraband substance was seized. In this connection, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Rehambal.
