KATRA, Mar 19: In two separate cases, Police arrested three drug peddlers under the jurisdiction of Katra Police Station and seized banned drugs from their possession.
Police team laid a surprise naka at Balini area, while conducting surprise checking and apprehended one person namely Amit Kumar , son of Sheru, resident of village Searli, Katra. On his frisking, approximately 53 grams of cannabis like substance was recovered from his possession.
In this connection, case FIR number 83/2024, under section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra and investigation is going on to unearth the backward and forward linkage.
In continued drive against drug abuse, Police team of Police Station Katra, while conducting surprise checking & frisking, apprehended two persons namely Bittu Ram son of Chatru Ram of village Rajachack, tehsil Akhnoor, Jammu and Mulkh Raj son of Bihari Lal of Gurha Brahmna, Akhnoor who were riding a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02CV-6494.
During checking, 25 strips of Alprazolam tablets IP 0.5 mg were recovered from the possession of Bittu Ram and 20 strips of Alprazolam tablets IP 0.5 mg from the possession of Mulkh Raj.
On this, case FIR number 84/2024, under section 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra.
